The Skowhegan Sportsmans Club has the most incredible, dedicated volunteers, and without you, our club would not exist! Every facility, range, and event you enjoy is the direct result of the time, energy, and funds contributed by members just like you.
We have many volunteers but they cannot do all the tasks alone. To keep our dues from increasing we must have your support.
Taking an active role in your club makes it a welcoming community for everyone. You don’t have to commit to every single event—dedicating just a few hours throughout the year makes a massive difference.
Whether you want to help behind the scenes on your own schedule or roll up your sleeves on the property, there is a place for you here. How You Can Help?
Property & Range Maintenance
Keep our facility looking great and operating safely. You can provide upkeep on your own schedule or during a workparty.
We always need help with:
- Mowing and groundskeeping across the club property.
- Target repairs and maintenance on the ranges.
- General upkeep, including clearing ditches and culverts.
- Bring trash from ranges to dumpster
- Clean up brass on property
Club Meetings
Help us keep our regular meetings running smoothly. Volunteers are needed for:
- Setting up and breaking down tables and chairs.
- Preparing snacks, preparing a meal, serving a meal, cleaning up kitchen
- Selling tickets for our 50/50 and raffles.
- Post-meeting clean-up so the clubhouse stays tidy.
- Floors, trash disposal, bathrooms
Classes, Safety Courses, Range Assistance, Sight in Day & Matches, Shows, Fundraising
Support our public events and educational programs. Key tasks include:
- Event set-up and tear-down before and after courses.
- Assisting with instruction and directing participants.
- Cleaning up the clubhouse, ranges and facilities after matches.
- Volunteer to be at a table at a show, provide the public details about the club in addition to fundraising with raffles
Behind-the-Scenes Administration
Prefer to help from the comfort of a desk?
- Membership mailings and sorting.
- General office duties and administrative tasks.
- Monthly spreadsheets
- Forms
Emails will be sent out, please respond when there is something particular that you can tackle, with very few volunteers and many of you we cannot call each and every person. Thank you so much! We value YOU!
